Hello everyone, I'm Adi Robertson, one of the 2008 fall interns for Public Knowledge. I'm originally from the mysterious and wooded Pacific Northwest, but for the last two years have braved hills and snowstorms to study China and Asia-Pacific Studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Now, however, I've left both behind in order to spend a semester on China-U.S. language and policy in Washington. Goodbye, Ithaca Book Sale, but hello free museums!
It's very exciting to work with Public Knowledge, which is giving me the opportunity to integrate my work in Chinese history and culture with my interests in Internet culture and law, copyright reform, and access to knowledge initiatives. I'm interested in ways to stimulate innovation and increase real communication on technological matters, as well as specific issues like the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, and will be happy to be doing some posting on PK's blog this semester.
When I'm not studying Mandarin or doing classwork, I can most often be found reading comic books, cooking simple foods, and scouring thrift stores for obsolete technology and vintage housewares.
