Oops, They Did It Again -- And Again

Most recent activity:

It was nice that AT&T apologized for that little flap over censoring Pearl Jam. Just a censor with an itchy trigger finger, the company said.

Now there are reports that maybe this wasn't a one-time thing. According to the Chicago Sun-Times and the Los Angeles Times the company may have had an itchy trigger finger before.

According to the stories, the John Butler Trio may have been censored as well for its comments critical of how the Bush Administration handled Hurricane Katrina. A third band, Flaming Lips, also has reports of censorship.

These bands don't have the public voice that Pearl Jam does, so it's wonderful that Eddie and the band brought this issue to public attention. One more reason to be vigilant about the habits of a company that would control the Internet.

Update -- And now it turns out there's a policy behind all of this. No politics allowed at a rock concert. Imagine that. I wonder what the AT&T censors would do with a song like this. You would probably never hear it, at least over their Webcast.
