On February 16, the House Energy and Commerce Committee hosted a hearing on Net Neutrality. Later that day, Reps. Fred Upton (R-MI) and Greg Walden (R-OR) offered a resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act to repeal the Federal Communication Commission's recent order on Net Neutrality. We are asking everyone to call their Member of Congress and urge them to vote against this repeal and help protect the open Internet.
Today Public Knowledge Legal Director Harold Feld testified on behalf of the Public Interest Spectrum Coalition (PISC) before the House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. The Subcommittee was considering proposals to shift spectrum from TV broadcasters towards wireless data. Harold opened his testimony with this defense of the value of the White Spaces and the importance of unlicensed spectrum in fostering innovation.
