SUMMARY:Joining Forces to Combat Disinformation: Cases and Regulatory Trends
DESCRIPTION:Public Knowledge and the EU DisinfoLab are honored to invite you to join us in a panel on transatlantic trends on disinformation mapping and regulation. \nIn this panel Alexandre Alaphilippe\, the EU DisinfoLab Executive Director will share the Lab’s most recent study on the Suavelos network developed in cooperation with French media Le Monde. In this study\, the EU DisinfoLab exposes the French white supremacist network that uses deceptive Facebook pages to attract visitors on their website to generate revenue from online advertisements\, and sell racist products as a means to support their activities. \nFollowing this presentation\, the panel will discuss the forthcoming regulation projects both from an EU and US point of view. \nPanelists: \n\nAlexandre Alaphilippe – Executive Director\, EU DisinfoLab (EU perspective)\nChris Lewis – President\, Public Knowledge\nAlina Polyakova – Director\, Project on Global Democracy and Emerging Technology\, Brookings Institution\n\nAdditional panelists may be added. \nEU DisinfoLab is a NGO focused on researching and tackling sophisticated disinformation campaigns targeting the EU\, its member states\, core institutions and core values.
