Today, the Federal Communications Commission’s Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel appointed Public Knowledge Senior Vice President Harold Feld to the agency’s Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council. The recently reestablished Council will focus primarily on improving 5G network security.

The following can be attributed to Chris Lewis, President and CEO of Public Knowledge:

“Congratulations to Harold Feld for his appointment to the Council. For many years, Harold has been a top thought leader for Public Knowledge, the public interest community, and the telecommunications policy community at large. His expert analysis and advocacy on the need for clear quality metrics and rules around network outages have predicted the current challenges communities are facing during natural disasters. Harold has also championed the need to maintain reliability standards as telecommunications providers continue the technology transition to all IP networks. He will be a tremendous asset to the Council and I am grateful to Acting Chairwoman Rosenworcel for recognizing his leadership with this appointment.”
