Public Knowledge Files Amicus Brief in U.S. v AT&T/Time Warner Appeal

Yesterday, Public Knowledge, along with American Antitrust Institute and Consumers Union, filed an amicus brief in the government's appeal of the AT&T/Time Warner decision.

The following can be attributed to John Bergmayer, Senior Counsel at Public Knowledge:

“The fact is, Judge Leon got it wrong. The inappropriate evidentiary criteria he applied in this case seems almost designed to ensure that the government could not prevail. Everyone says they want to see the video marketplace evolve in a pro-consumer, pro-competition direction. But the way to get there is not through more mergers, but through companies competing and innovating. The Court of Appeals should ensure that the video marketplace has a chance to do that.”
