Public Knowledge is pleased to announce one addition and one change to our team. First, Public Knowledge welcomes Greg Guice, Director of Government Affairs to our team to spearhead our advocacy, outreach, and policy recommendations to promote technological innovation.

Prior to joining Public Knowledge, Mr. Guice was Senior Counsel at McGuirewoods and Akin Gump and served 14 years with the Federal Communications Commission as Director of Legislative Affairs and Counsel on a range of issues, including broadband deployment and affordability; spectrum access; competition; net neutrality; privacy; and public safety. Mr. Guice received his J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a licensed attorney in Virginia and D.C.

Additionally, Public Knowledge is pleased to announce the promotion of Meredith Rose to Senior Policy Counsel. Ms. Rose joined Public Knowledge in 2015 and has led the organization’s intellectual property portfolio. In her new role, she’ll be advancing that portfolio — including controlled digital lending and “fandom” and fan-rights — with key policymakers.

The following may be attributed to Public Knowledge President & CEO Chris Lewis:

“I am excited to welcome Greg Guice to Public Knowledge. He brings leadership and fresh insight to our advocacy work after many years of government service. Greg’s extensive network and political savvy will contribute greatly to our work and the work across the public interest field. I trust that his knowledge and personable style will make him a strong mentor for our junior staff and fellows, as well.

“I’m also extremely proud to announce Meredith Rose’s promotion to Senior Policy Counsel. Meredith has demonstrated great leadership and growth in recent years. She has become one of the foremost experts on music licensing and copyright policy and her expertise has been recognized through her repeated invitations to testify before Congress. We look forward to her growing role in our organization and among advocates for free expression, balanced copyright policy, and online creators.”
