Public Knowledge welcomes Kathleen Burke, Policy Counsel, to our team to enhance our legal capabilities and provide support for copyright reform and telecommunications policy.

Ms. Burke received her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University Law School, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law, Technology, and the Internet. During law school, she received the CALI awards in Property and Copyright Law and later served as a Public Knowledge Policy Extern in 2020 to support telecommunications reform. Prior to her externship, Ms. Burke worked as the Director of Education and Outreach at Fayette Alliance, a land-use policy non-profit in Lexington, KY, and operated her own wedding photography business. She is also an Internet Law and Policy Foundry Fellow.

The following may be attributed to Public Knowledge President & CEO Chris Lewis:

“We’re elated to welcome Kathleen to the team as permanent staff after completing an externship with Public Knowledge. Kathleen combines a passion for technology policy with years of advocacy experience gained prior to law school, demonstrating a talent for detailed research and careful examination of complex topics. Kathleen is a tremendous addition to our policy team and we’re excited to welcome her.”
