Public Knowledge welcomes Montana Williams, Policy Fellow, to our team to focus on expanding broadband access, protecting free expression online, increasing platform competition, and creating fair intellectual property policy. She holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law as well as a B.S. in Telecommunications with a specialization in News from the University of Florida.

Prior to joining Public Knowledge, Montana worked in Government Affairs for Evans & Associates, advocating on behalf of clients on issues dealing with telecommunications, health care, and state infrastructure. While working in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, Montana saw first-hand the impact that the lack of reliable, affordable internet connectivity has on underserved and marginalized communities, distance learners, the elderly, and medical patients.

The following may be attributed to Chris Lewis, President and CEO of Public Knowledge:

“We are excited to welcome Montana as the 21st Policy Fellow to join our Fellowship and Training program. Montana’s academic background in telecommunications and passion for following politics makes her an ideal selection for joining our team and working side-by-side with our experienced staff. Our Fellowship and Training program aspires to train the next generation of public interest advocates so that our field represents the talent and diversity of the nation. We are grateful for the ongoing donations from individuals and organizations that continue to support this mission. ”
